ATLANTA COALITION
The NMA Atlanta Coalition (Georgia) was formed in fall 2005. The Coalition has created a strong partnership with the local coalition of the Georgia Diabetes Prevention and Control Program. This diabetes coalition is composed of numerous organizations of which the NMA Atlanta Coalition (NAC) is one. The NAC is serving as the physician arm of the larger state coalition. The focus of the NAC is physician education.

HOUSTON COALITION
The NMA Houston Texas Coalition was formed in fall 2005. The Coalition has formed a rich partnership with many local and state organizations. The focus of the coalition is related to physician and youth education, and providing a directory of African American physicians in Texas for its Coalition Member Organizations.

INDIANAPOLIS COALITION
The NMA Washington DC Coalition was formed in fall 2005. The Coalition is lead by an NMA member with partnerships ranging from Delta Sigma Theta Federal City Alumni Chapter, Howard University Diabetes Center, DC Chapter of NAACP to local churches that include but not limited to: Israel Baptist Church, Holy Comforter Episcopal Church and Freedom Chapel International Christian Center Inc.

LOS ANGELES PROFILE
The NMA Los Angeles Coalition was formed in the fall of 2005. The Coalition is focusing efforts primarily in the city of Los Angeles, however for certain outreach efforts it is expanded to other parts of California. The Coalition has created strong partnership with several local and state organizations. The focus of the coalition is related to physician and youth education, and providing a directory of African American physicians in Los Angeles for its Coalition Member Organizations.

PINE BLUFF PROFILE
The NMA Pine Bluff, AR was formed in fall 2006. The Coalition has formed a strong partnership with many local and state organizations. The focus of the coalition is related to physician and youth education, and providing a directory of African American physicians in Arkansas for its Coalition Member Organizations.

WASHINGTON, DC PROFILE
The NMA Washington DC area and Prince Georges County, Maryland Coalition was formed in fall 2005. The Coalition is lead by the NMA affiliate society, Medic-Chirurgical Society of the District of Columbia. Partnerships exist with many local and state organizations. The focus of the coalition is education of people with diabetes, their families, their communities and their physicians. Outreach efforts have included activities in four of the eight wards in the District and Prince Georges County, Maryland.
