The Student National Medical Association (SNMA) is the nation’s oldest and largest independent, student-run organization focused on the needs and concerns of medical students of color.

The Auxiliary of the National Medical Association (ANMA) has as part of its mission, the commitment to aid and encourage the NMA in its efforts to educate and serve the public in matters of health and develop and promote national programs on health, education, and legislation.


COALITION PARTNERS

Coalitions currently are currenlty maintained in Atlanta, Houston, Indianapolis, Los Angeles, Pine Bluff, and the District of Columbia.  In each city, the local NMA affiliate (society) forms a community coalition composed of public and private partners. In additional to the national partners of the ANMA and the SNMA, other local coalition partners include: state-based diabetes prevention and control programs, local public heath departments, American Diabetes Association (ADA), historically black colleges and universities (HBCU’s), community-based organizations, faith-based institutions, civic organizations, businesses, health providers, diabetes patients, and other health-related agencies.  Click here to link to the current list of Coalition Partners.
